Wineries

Visiting wineries are not just or those of you who love wine and love to travel. There's a good chance that you will be able to locate a winery or wineries in many of the states that you may find yourself traveling to or just passing through!

Whether this is your main purpose for travel or maybe not, you should certainly take the opportunity to visit the wineries in the area you are in which I can assure you will be quite an inspirational experience, one you would not want to miss.

When you think of those fine American made and wineries, the first thing that comes to most people's mind is the famous California vineyards, which is considered one of the most popular wine producing places in the country.

It is also fair to say that many of the other states in our wonderful industrious nation has some very fine wineries, but they simply do not have the advertising finances available to them like some of the larger more well recognized wineries.

If you have the opportunity to do some research before you begin your travels, there are some fantastic Internet sites that you might want to take a look at.

These sites have tons of information regarding the wineries in the particular state you will be visiting, and they also have local listings for seasonal wine festivals that you might be interested to attend.

One of the best sites that I have found to be most helpful and informative is "All American Wineries".

Here you can find a listing of the wineries and the state they are situated in, and they also include some of the smaller not so well know wineries, referred to as "hidden gems" because what they have to offer will surely be a pleasant surprise the wine connoisseur  should  his travels take him of the beaten track to one of these smaller wineries.

Most of these smaller wineries are owned and operated by family members  and although they  have been in operation for quite some time, they are well known mainly to the local people of the community or to travelers who have learned about them through word of mouth.

Wine is produced in many different parts of the country and can be bought at your local restaurants , grocery stores and liquor stores and also at the seasonal wine tasting festivals held in many different states.

Wherever your travels may take you whether it is good old New York or the harsh desert of New Mexico, wineries are very popular and that's a fact.

Each winery uses a vast variety of grapes that are grown in the specific region they are situated in.   These unique are usually served to complement the local dishes that are native to that particular region, and would not have the same effect if they were served in another part of the country.

For instance no good Chef in New Jersey would consider pairing Habanero wine with fresh red snapper, that combination is a total NO NO. (no match found!! got it).

Thinking of taking another trip sometime in the near future, well whether you are a wine connoisseur or not, don't miss the opportunity to sample some of the local vintage and give your taste buds a truly tongue teasing experience of a life time.

Who knows you may even be lucky to find a brochure that has your favorite listed, well in that case what are you waiting for, start ordering, place your  order on the Internet or through mail service, order for yourself, or as a gift for someone special.

Have a wonderful time, maybe even start writing your own wine tasting journal;  go ahead be brave and visit as many exciting wineries  and don't forget about the "hidden gems" you don't want to miss out on their special surprise.  The sky's the limit, go for it!!!
